Update

Quick one. Morgan is back in the PICU as of Sunday afternoon. She got sick over the weekend and was having trouble keeping her oxygen saturations up. She has been on a ventilator since arriving as her lungs are in horrible shape. There is evidence of aspiration in both lungs and each appeared to have a part collapsed. They are keeping her fully sedated and on the ventilator so her body can focus on fighting the "funk" in her lungs. One good thing to come of this is we are taking the opportunity to run tests which require sedation. We had opted not to do some of these as they are very invasive and in general, not fun. But since we have been assured Morgan will remember/feel nothing, we opted to do them. All signs are that she will be in the PICU for a while. Doc said today that her lungs will not heal quickly. So, please keep her in your thoughts as she fights this battle. Hopefully she can be home for her Birthday.
