Road Trip...

The Adrien family went on their first road trip on October 19th. We left Greenville around 4pm and headed north towards Cincinnati, OH. We stopped in Tennessee to have dinner at Cracker Barrel, where Kaylee ordered her best dinner ever. Macaroni and Cheese with a side of Bacon! That girl loves her pork. We arrived in Cincinnati around midnight. The girls traveled in the car pretty good. They were both tired when we left and took small naps before our dinner stop then they watched Cinderella on my laptop. I can now see the need for a portable DVD player. On Friday I took the girls to lunch with my friend Carolyn Etheridge. Carolyn was my manager when I worked at Jefferson Smurfit in Blue Ash, OH. It was great to see her and finally introduce the kids to her. We spent some time driving around Craig's old haunts. He showed Kaylee the house where he grew up, where he went to high school and where he used to go swimming. She was not impressed. We spent Friday afternoon at the pumpkin patch with Craig's brother, Chris. The girls had a great time and we got 4 pumpkins. We went out to dinner with Craig's siblings, Chris and Holly. Everyone had a great time. We spent our first two nights at Holly's apartment.
On Saturday, we spent the day in Oxford, OH which is where Miami University is located. Again, Craig wanted to show Kaylee all his college hangouts and she did not care. We had lunch with Craig's best buddy since college, Andrew Farler and his wife Molly. We were able to fill our card of "Must do" while in Cincinnati by going to Skyline Chili for lunch. After our day in Oxford, we headed back into Cincinnati and went to Chris' house for pizza and a movie. We decided to watch "The Wedding Crashers". Well, actually that's what I would have done, but we had the kids so we watched "Over the Hedge". It was pretty cute.
Sunday was our day to relax. Chris has a projection TV that takes up an entire wall in his attic media room. Which means, Football is awesome!! Kaylee kept standing up next to the wall to compare herself to the players. We were able to watch the Bengals and they won, so it was a great time for all.

The girls and I relaxed on Monday morning while Craig did some work remotely. We left for our "interim" home around 1pm. The trip home was a little longer due to some unforeseen traffic. All in all we had a great time and are looking forward to future road trips.
