SHE DID IT!!!!

Well, I've been meaning to update all of you about the construction going on at our house. We are having a screen porch and deck added to the back of our house. But more on that later because the big news today is that Morgan took her first steps alone!!!! We have been asking Morgan to stand up and then let go to practice standing on her own. Since she is such a goof ball she usually doesn't stand for very long because the part that is funny is when she falls down. Which she of course she does on purpose just to make people laugh. We were sitting in the living room tonight talking with Grammy, Grampy and Auntie Holly and Morgan was standing by the couch next to me. The next thing I notice she is standing and then taking steps forward. She took about 3 or 4 steps to our coffee table. Everyone saw her and we all started clapping. It was great! Then she immediately tried to walk backwards and fell on her bottom. We were able to get her to try it a couple of more times, but she liked to fall down again to make people laugh. I tried to explain to her that we were clapping when she made it to the coffee table, not because she fell down. Oh well, that's our girl. I'm sure there will be a lot more walking in store for her. We are all very excited and I'm just glad that I got to see it as I missed Kaylee's first steps.



Well, back to the addition to the house. On Monday, a contractor came and started our addition. We are adding a screen porch and deck to the back of the house. The screen room will be 12 x 12 and the deck is an additional 10 x 12 off of the screen room. The screen room has a gable roof and is open all the way up to the roof. We are having a pine ceiling put in the room as we are going to put our "Timberline" furniture in that room. As of Friday afternoon the screen room had a floor, a roof and all of the posts. They put in a railing and slats below the railing just like a picket fence. All of the posts and railings have been painted white. The roof was shingled on Thursday. We just need gutters, ceiling, ceiling fan and of course the screens. The deck is complete except for one board on the end. Once we are done with this outdoor project we will be adding a play structure for the girls. Morgan keeps asking if the guys that are working on the porch are making her play structure. I spent some time last week working on our front yard. I added a couple varities of ornamental grass and some different colored mums. I will post some pictures of that project soon.

Tomorrow we are going to an Apple Festival so I will try to get some pictures of the family while we are out. Enjoy your labor day weekend.
