2nd Grade - Here I Come!!!

Kaylee started 2nd grade last week!!! Can you believe it? She can't be old enough to be in 2nd grade. Craig and I both remember 2nd grade ourselves. It's kind of crazy. Kaylee got the teacher that she (and I) wanted so she was very excited about that. I think this year is starting to turn out like how she expected school to be. They are really going to learn some things this year. She is excited about science class and they have a new music teacher that was a student teacher when she was in kindergarten and she really liked him. So I think it is going to be a great year for her! I also think she likes knowing that I will be at school almost everyday doing my PTA Co-President duties. So far it is all going well!

You'll notice that Kaylee looks a little different in these pictures. She got her hair "done" before she went back to school. She decided she wanted to try out having bangs. I was a little nervous at first, but they look really cute. She has been good about letting me help her style them. Before Kaylee went back to school I asked her what she would like to do with me at the end of summer. Her choice was to spend the day doing crafts with me. This is not necessarily my idea of fun, but she enjoyed herself. We ended up including Morgan, but in Kaylee's perfect world it would have just been me and her. The girls decorated crowns, pumpkins and door signs. They turned out pretty good and I think she had a good time.

Here are some pictures of Kaylee and Morgan.

I'm going to try to get the girls enrolled in dance classes at our local YMCA so hopefully we will have some pictures of that coming up soon. I am also trying to talk Craig into taking a 10 week latin/ballroom class at the Y. Hopefully he will go for it because I really want to take it!

I am also taking classes in September to get certified to teach aerobics again. Hopefully this will be a great job for me over the next couple of years until Morgan goes to school. I can work a couple hours here or there and they have daycare for Morgan. Plus we should be able to get free membership! Craig has recently upgraded our membership so that he can go to one of our other YMCA's to go swimming. He started last week and went on Tuesday and Wednesday at 6am. I am very proud of him, but then he got "The Poison". Craig was at his parents a couple of weeks ago and was walking around in the yard and got into some poison ivy. He didn't realize it until over a week later when he started to break out on his leg. Then the other leg. A couple of days later it showed up on his hands! He has been miserable. My old wives tale advice of baking soda bath has been the best help so far. He has a business trip tomorrow to Orlando and is not very excited about having to meet with a client with these bumps all over his hands. It is looking a little better today, so we are all hoping that it will be even better tomorrow for his trip.

Here is a link to our school's website. There are pictures sometimes of us and it will keep you updated on our school (if you are interested).
